Prospective group Members are asked to participate in an informal chat prior to joining, are invited to attend one workshop, and review and sign an agreement, if interested in joining; however, the Membership is often placed on a waiting list.
About Norma: Norma has facilitated writing workshops in Hawaii and in Spain for the last several decades. It has been my experience that most people would like to write but a few issues hold them back. Our workshop is like a children’s sandbox offering several tools (not toys) and the freedom to explore their own possibility, in an informal, relaxed and friendly setting.
About the workshop: Given that we are a group of seasoned seniors, I view my role as an “inspiring agent”, not as an academic educator. Correct writing is always a focus, but we advocate for self-expression and the freedom of tapping into personal interests. Various topics are presented, studied and discussed followed by an invitation for individuals to elaborate in writing.
We strongly encourage participation during each session but written assignments as well as oral presentations are always optional.
