The U3A Axarquia (University of the Third Age) is a lively and welcoming community for people who are no longer in full-time employment and who enjoy learning, sharing ideas, and meeting new friends.
Based in the beautiful Axarquia region of southern Spain, our groups cover a wide variety of interests — all led by members for members. Activities are conducted in English as our common language, but we warmly welcome people of all nationalities. Our current membership includes people from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and many other countries, reflecting the rich international mix of our local area.
U3A Axarquia is part of the worldwide U3A movement, which promotes learning for pleasure and personal enrichment rather than for formal qualifications.
